Study of Comparison of Anthropometric Parameters Among The Non-Obese, Overweight and Obese Subjects

Background: Obesity is the biggest challenge in health management and public problem many countriessince it a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, to ascertain which anthropometricmeasurements are better predictors of obesity.The main objective evaluate compare anthropometric parameters non-obese, overweight, andobese subjects.Materials methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 82 subjects (male 36 female 46)with age group 25 60 years recruited from outpatient department Medicine, Thanjavur MedicalCollege, Thanjavur, South India. All data were collected.Statistical analysis results: Statistical analyses carried out by using SPSS. The T-test wasused means between groups normally distributed variables. statistical tests weretwo-tailed, p-value <0.05 considered significant. Anthropometric Height(Ht), Weight(Wt),Body mass index(BMI), waist circumference(WC), hip circumference(HC),waist-hip ratio(WHR), Bloodpressure significant(p-value < 0.05)among overweight obese subjects. Among subjects,the body index positively associated weight, WC, HC.Conclusion: In conclusion, markers, BMI, HC, WHR, Blood pressure wereindependently obesity this study. Elevated BMI Pressure significantly relatedto several factors.
